Grocery shopping, good intentions, and dedications

I have to say that I'm glad I do my grocery shopping "early" Sunday, before most of the church-goers get out.

I tried Saturday afternoons, but the rash of idiocy drove me to the brink of pretty nasty lack-of-anger-management moments more times than I care to remember. The only caveat for the whole idea is that eating breakfast at a Denny's/Friendly's/etc. before shopping can be just as frustrating because the people who don't want to cook breakfast for the handful of screaming kids (that they willingly produced) are there, not doing a very good job of keeping their children in line, under control, and quiet for those of us who haven't had our daily intake of caffeine yet.

Well, here's the good intention of not saying too many negative things in this blog down the drain sooner than I expected!

On a more positive note (whew!), I've been updating my iPod with holiday cheer. I've just finished double checking that I've loaded all of my holiday CDs (and albums that have been digitized) and selecting those "chosen few" that will get transferred for portability. As I gaze at my iTunes, which has been running for 5-10 minutes now (I really haven't been paying attention while I'm typing), I notice that I'm at 851 of 2167 songs. {Sigh!} In this day and age of "instant gratification technology", we get spoiled, don't we?

Well, I've got to get going, and before I take my leave, I'd like to dedicate this blog to the people who unknowingly named it. During a visit to New Hampshire, I met with a couple (Peter and Janet) and their bird (I can't remember her species), Molly, on business. I don't remember what order this conversation went in, but here's the gist. During a moment of utter clarity on my part, I told them my unvarnished opinion about something and finished with, "if they don't like it, they can kiss my lily white a__", to which Peter laughed and replied that I was refreshingly honest compared to all the people who try to whitewash everything (even to themselves) on a daily basis.

Thank you, thank you! No applause... just throw money! ;-)
